Poultry equipment suppliers in China.
China is primarily a sourcing origin rather than a destination market for imported equipment: buyers worldwide come here for complete broiler and layer house packages, cage and aviary systems, feed-mill scope and processing lines at prices no other origin matches at volume. The work is not finding a factory — it is separating genuine manufacturers from trading companies, and writing a specification precise enough that the quoted price is the equipment you actually receive.

Local power supply: 220/380 V 50 Hz. Ask every supplier to quote motors, fans and controls for this voltage and frequency — a different rating means transformers or re-wiring that are not in this estimate.
How do you buy poultry equipment in China?
Send one scoped request. Our team approaches manufacturers researched on capability and distributors that already ship into China and Asia on your behalf, and asks for proposals on the same Incoterms 2020 basis — usually CIF or DDP — so freight, clearance and duty can be compared. Supplier participation is not guaranteed. A specialist reviews every request personally and comes back with clarifying questions before any supplier is approached.
Prepare house dimensions, bird type and capacity, target placement date, on-site power and water, and a budget range. Buyers pay no fee. Financing, where relevant, is introduced through an independent third-party partner and remains subject to third-party approval.
Planning guidance only — tariff classification, duty and FX rules change; confirm with your bank and licensed clearing agent.
What to fix before suppliers quote a China project
Broiler and layer projects need different scopes: broilers are sized by birds per cycle and need brooding heat; layers by hens housed, with a laying system, egg collection and manure belts. State which you are building, then answer these China-specific questions.
Capacity and specification
- Bird type, birds per cycle or hens housed, number of houses and dimensions
- Housing system, feeding and drinking lines, ventilation concept and controller
- New build, expansion or retrofit of existing houses
China: power, climate and site
- Is equipment built for your country's voltage, frequency and plug standards?
- Is ventilation and cooling sized for your climate data, not a generic site?
- Is house steel included, or equipment only?
- Which destination port and inland route apply?
What each quote should include
- Itemised systems with quantities, and what is excluded
- One delivery term (Incoterm) and destination for every bidder
- Installation, commissioning and training scope
- Warranty start and length, recommended spares, validity
Delivery, installation and service
- Quote basis: FOB, CIF or delivered — and what freight, insurance and duty remain for you
- Who installs and commissions: factory technicians, a local partner or your contractor?
- Spare-parts lead time to your country and remote support
For a planning budget use the farm cost calculator; when ready, send your project brief. Tools and requests are free, with no obligation. Our team reviews every brief and manages supplier outreach and proposal comparison — you do not need to contact suppliers yourself.
Chinese poultry equipment manufacturers: what to check before you shortlist
HatchMatch does not publish, rank or endorse manufacturers. Whichever China-based factories you consider, ask each one for the same evidence before you compare prices.
| Check | What to ask for | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Factory or trading company | Business licence, factory address and the factory's name on the contract | Decides who carries the warranty and supplies spare parts |
| Product scope | Product list covering the systems you need: housing, feeding, drinking, climate, hatchery | Shows whether each lot sits inside the company's own range |
| Export references | Installations in a comparable market and climate, with contacts you can call | Shows the equipment has run in conditions like yours |
| Certificates | Copies of the certificates your country requires for electrical and machinery items, checkable with the issuer | A claim on a website or brochure is not proof |
| Production check | A live video walk of the line or an independent pre-shipment inspection | Lets you tie the balance payment to the agreed specification |
Buyer specification table: send the same answers to every Chinese bidder
Quotes can only be compared when every factory prices the same scope. Fill in the middle column before asking for prices, then check each quote against the right column.
| Item | What you specify | What to check in each quote |
|---|---|---|
| Power supply | Voltage, phase and frequency at site (e.g. 400 V / 3-phase / 50 Hz or 480 V / 60 Hz) | Motors, controllers and panels rated for that supply; certificates required in your country |
| Climate design | Peak summer temperature and humidity, winter minimum, altitude | Fan count, airflow per house, cooling-pad area and heating sized from your data |
| Capacity | Birds per cycle or hens housed, tiers, number and size of houses | Cage or aviary layout drawing and stocking density per house |
| Steel and corrosion | Galvanising method and coating weight for cages and structure | Stated coating (e.g. hot-dip, g/m²) and material certificates |
| Building scope | Equipment only, or house steel, panels and roofing too | Clear inclusion and exclusion list; civil works are often excluded |
| Delivery term | One Incoterm and destination for all bidders (FOB port, CIF port or delivered) | Freight, insurance, duty and inland transport that remain with you |
| Installation | Factory technicians, local partner or your contractor | Days on site, travel and visa costs, commissioning and operator training |
| Spares and warranty | Spares list for the first years, warranty start and length | Lead time for spares to your country and remote support hours |

What shapes a poultry equipment purchase in China.
The cost advantage is real but concentrated in steel-intensive, repeatable scope: cages, aviaries, feeding lines, ventilation fans and house structures. On sophisticated climate controllers, hatchery incubators and high-throughput processing, the gap to European equipment narrows and the service question becomes decisive.
Many exporters are trading companies rather than the factory. That is not automatically a problem, but it changes accountability on warranty, spare parts and technical corrections. Ask directly whether you are buying from the producer and require the factory name on the contract.
Quality is specification-driven. Two Chinese quotations for the same house can differ widely because of steel gauge, galvanising thickness, motor brand, controller model and included spares — none of which appear in a lump-sum offer. Comparable quotes require a written bill of materials.
Installation and commissioning support is normally quoted as engineer days plus travel and accommodation. Price it explicitly, including visa handling, because it is a common source of budget surprise after arrival.
Importing poultry equipment into China.
Buyer guidance for planning purposes. Regulations, tariff classification and foreign-exchange rules change — confirm the current position with your bank and licensed clearing agent before committing.
Verify the manufacturer
Request the business licence, factory address, production capacity and at least two export references in a comparable market. A short video audit of the production line is normal practice and usually granted.
Bill of materials, not lump sums
Require steel gauge and galvanising thickness, motor and gearbox brands, controller model, cable specification, quantities per house and the spares included. This single document is what makes competing Chinese offers comparable.
Payment terms and inspection
Typical terms are a deposit against a balance before shipment. Tie the balance to a pre-shipment inspection by an independent third party against the agreed bill of materials, and keep a retention against commissioning where the supplier will accept it.
Certification and destination compliance
CE documentation is commonly available; UL is not. State the destination market's electrical standard, voltage and frequency on the order and require the conformity documents your inspector or insurer will ask for.
Entry gateways
| Gateway | Serves | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Qingdao / Tianjin | Shandong, Hebei and Henan equipment cluster | The usual load ports for poultry house equipment. |
| Shanghai / Ningbo | Eastern China; consolidated multi-supplier shipments | Best option when several suppliers are consolidated into one shipment. |
| Shenzhen / Guangzhou | Southern China; Southeast Asian destinations | Short transits into Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. |
Supplier origins serving China, and the trade-offs.
| Origin | Why buyers here use it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Shandong / Hebei cluster | Deepest concentration of cage, aviary and complete-house manufacturers with export experience. | Capacity varies widely between factories — confirm the line that will actually build your order. |
| Henan cluster | Strong on feeding systems, silos and feed-mill scope at competitive pricing. | Ask for references in your climate zone, not only domestic installations. |
| Joint-venture and licensed producers | European-designed equipment produced locally, bridging price and specification depth. | Confirm which components are licensed and which are locally substituted. |
Designing equipment for China conditions.
Specify for the destination climate
Equipment configured for northern Chinese conditions is not automatically correct for tropical Africa or the Gulf. State design temperature, humidity and altitude and require the ventilation and cooling calculation against those figures.
Corrosion protection
Galvanising thickness and coating quality decide service life in humid and ammonia-loaded houses. Put the specification in microns in the contract and verify it at pre-shipment inspection.
Spare parts strategy
Long resupply distances make an initial spares package essential: fan motors and capacitors, nipples, drive units, sensors and a spare controller board. Negotiate it into the original order, when your leverage is highest.
Documentation and training
Require manuals, wiring diagrams and parts catalogues in the working language of your team, plus commissioning and operator training days written into the contract rather than promised verbally.

Buying poultry equipment in China — what actually decides the outcome.
Supplier quotes often arrive written on different scopes, Incoterms and certification assumptions, which makes them hard to compare directly. We normalise the scope first, then put it to manufacturers researched for China, so the figures you compare rest on the same basis. Buyers pay no fees, and a person on our team reviews every brief.
Cost figures shown across the site are engineering estimates for planning purposes. Final pricing is confirmed with suppliers, and any financing arrangement remains subject to third-party approval.
