Define the production model first
Target live weight, cycles per year, downtime between flocks and market channel determine everything downstream — house dimensions, density, ventilation capacity and feeding-line throughput. Specify these before requesting equipment quotations.
Feeding and drinking lines drive FCR
Pan, chain and auger architectures differ measurably on spillage, uniformity and hygiene. A 0.03–0.05 FCR difference on a 100,000-bird cycle is typically worth more per year than the price gap between systems.
Ventilation is the survival system
Tunnel sizing, minimum winter ventilation, static pressure control and evaporative cooling determine bird welfare and mortality risk in hot climates. Size the ventilation from heat load and target wind-chill, not from a supplier's default house package.
Cost structure: feed dominates
