Who are the best broiler equipment suppliers, and what should the package cost?

The manufacturers that recur on commercial broiler projects are Big Dutchman, Roxell, Chore-Time, Cumberland (AGCO), Jansen, Plasson, Munters, SKA, Landmeco, Çetinkaya, Impex and Hog Slat. Equipment-only budgets run about USD 8–14 per bird place with value manufacturers, USD 14–22 with regional manufacturers and USD 20–28 with global OEMs on a fully automated tunnel-ventilated house, before civil works.

Comparison that decides the award: global OEMs bring the deepest engineering and worldwide parts at the highest price; regional European, Turkish, Brazilian and Indian houses sit mid-market on price-to-spec; value manufacturers suit simpler climates where local installers and spares already exist; EPC contractors take single-point responsibility but bundle equipment margin into the build. Very few houses end up single-brand — feeding, drinking, cooling and controls are frequently awarded to different specialists.

Coverage: broiler packages are sourced for Europe, the Gulf and MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South-East Asia and the Americas. Every shortlisted supplier must evidence installed houses at your bird numbers and design outside temperature, hold the certification your inspectorate accepts (CE, UL 508A / NEC, CSA or local equivalent), and name a spare-parts and service channel reachable from your site.

Bands are indicative equipment-only budgets for planning, not quotations. Request a quote — a specialist replies within 2 business days and offers arrive on one comparison sheet.

Why buyers use us

Finding suppliers is easy. Comparing them is not.

Three broiler quotes usually arrive on three different scopes, three Incoterms and three warranty structures. We fix the specification first, then take it to market.

Vetted, not scraped

Manufacturers are checked for trading history, commercial broiler references at your scale and the certification set your market needs before they reach your shortlist.

One scope, every supplier

We write a single technical scope — line counts, airflow targets, controller functions, spares — and every bidder prices exactly that. No more comparing a fan package against a full house.

Landed cost, not ex-works games

Offers are requested on the same Incoterms 2020 basis, usually DDP or CIF to your site, so freight, packing, duty and delivery are inside the compared number.

Certification checked in writing

CE, UL 508A / NEC, CSA or local approvals are confirmed as documents before any purchase order — not assumed from a brochure line.

Zero buyer fees

Sourcing, RFQ management and comparison cost the buyer nothing, and our compensation never depends on which supplier you select.

Answered in 2 business days

A human specialist — not an auto-responder — reviews your request and replies within 2 business days with questions and a shortlist.

Supplier landscape

The five types of broiler equipment supplier.

Most buyers compare company names. It is more useful to compare supplier types first, because the trade-offs are structural: engineering depth, service reach, parts logistics and price all move together.

Broiler equipment supplier types compared by strengths, watch-outs and best fit
Supplier typeTypical originStrengthsWatch-outsBest fit
Global OEMWestern Europe / North AmericaDeepest engineering, proven climate control in extreme conditions, worldwide service network, long parts availability.Highest equipment price; project queues in peak season; local dealer quality varies by territory.Large multi-house sites, hot or humid climates, integrators standardising a brand across farms.
Regional manufacturerTürkiye, Spain, Italy, Brazil, IndiaStrong price-to-spec ratio, willing to adapt scope, faster lead times, competitive on complete house packages.Service reach outside the home region depends on partners; documentation quality varies; confirm certification for your market.Mid-scale commercial projects, phased expansions, buyers with in-house technical staff.
Value manufacturerAsia, emerging exportersLowest CAPEX per house, high volume capacity, flexible on payment structure.Spare-parts logistics, controller software support, energy efficiency of fans and heaters, warranty enforceability.Simpler scopes, moderate climates, sites with reliable local mechanical support.
Turnkey EPC contractorRegional and internationalSingle-point responsibility for structure, equipment, installation and commissioning; one contract, one schedule.Equipment margin is bundled inside the build price; brand choice may be restricted; harder to benchmark line by line.Greenfield projects, investors without a technical team, financed builds needing one accountable party.
Local dealer / integratorIn-marketFast service response, parts on the shelf, familiar with local codes, inspections and utility constraints.Limited to the brands they carry; pricing includes a distribution layer; capacity limits on large projects.Retrofits, single-barn replacements, farms that prioritise uptime over unit price.

Who makes what, by equipment category.

Very few broiler houses are single-brand end to end. This is which manufacturers are commonly specified per category, and the one technical detail that actually decides the choice.

Broiler equipment categories and commonly specified manufacturers
CategoryCommonly specified manufacturersWhat actually decides the choice
Pan feeding lines & silosRoxell, Chore-Time, Cumberland, Big Dutchman, Landmeco, SKAPans per bird, pan flood-out behaviour, winch rating, silo auger sizing for your feed density.
Nipple drinking lines & water treatmentPlasson, Impex Barneveld, Roxell, Ziggity, LubingNipple flow rate at your line pressure, leak record, compatibility with local water hardness, filtration scope.

What about prices?

We do not publish list prices for third-party manufacturers, because a broiler equipment price only means something once house dimensions, bird density, climate spec and Incoterms are fixed — the same package can differ by a wide margin between a temperate and a hot-climate specification. Size the budget yourself with the calculators, then let us run the RFQ so every manufacturer prices the identical scope on the same delivery basis.

Specification depth

What to specify, and what to ask each supplier.

Nearly every unusable broiler quote comparison traces back to a missing line in the specification. This is the scope we normalise before any supplier is allowed to price.

Broiler equipment specification checklist by category
CategorySpecify in the RFQAsk the supplierWhere comparisons break
Feeding systemsPan or chain type, line count and length, pans per line, hopper and winch spec, silo capacity and auger diameter.Feed conversion track record at your bird weight, pan flood-out behaviour, winch load rating, spare pan and drive-motor lead time.Line count quoted for a narrower house than yours — always compare pans per bird, not price per line.
Drinking systemsNipple flow rate, nipples per bird, line count, regulator type, medicator and flushing arrangement, water-quality assumptions.Nipple leak rate data, compatibility with your water hardness, filtration included or excluded.Water treatment quietly excluded from scope, then priced as a change order after award.
VentilationTunnel airflow target at design temperature, fan count and CFM/m³h at static pressure, inlet count and throw, static-pressure control.Fan performance at 25 Pa (not free air), motor efficiency class, shutter and belt service interval.Free-air fan ratings inflate airflow by 20–30% and make an undersized package look compliant.
Heating & coolingHeat load at design minimum temperature, brooder or furnace type and fuel, evaporative pad area and recirculation rate.Fuel consumption at design load, pad supplier and thickness, scale and algae maintenance plan.Heat capacity sized for average winter rather than the coldest week of placement.
Controls & automationController model, number of control stages, alarm outputs, remote access, sensor count and placement, integration with feeding and weighing.Firmware support life, language of the interface, alarm dial-out method, local technician availability.Controller locked to one supplier's peripherals, blocking a mixed-brand retrofit later.
Structure & turnkeyInsulation U-value, house dimensions, slab and foundation scope, curtain or solid sidewall, electrical supply assumptions.Which scope is excluded (civil, electrical connection, permits), commissioning days included, training scope.Civil works and electrical connection excluded on one bid and included on another — the classic false comparison.

Supplier vetting scorecard.

Six checks decide whether a manufacturer reaches your shortlist. Use them yourself, or let us run them and send you the evidence.

  1. 01

    Trading history and financial standing

Registered entity, years exporting, and evidence the company can carry a project of your size without prepayment risk.

  2. 02

References at your scale and climate

Two contactable commercial broiler installations with comparable bird numbers and comparable design temperatures — not a showroom photo.

  3. 03

    Certification documents, not claims

CE declarations, UL 508A / NEC panel listings, CSA marks or the local equivalent supplied as documents before purchase order.

  4. 04

    Spare-parts channel

Named stocking point, lead time for wear parts (nipples, belts, drive motors, controller boards) and whether parts ship without a new export cycle.

  5. 05

    Service and commissioning

Who commissions, how many days are included, who trains your staff, and what a call-out costs once the warranty period ends.

  6. 06

    Warranty and Incoterms in writing

Warranty duration per component, what voids it, the Incoterms 2020 basis, and who is importer of record and clears customs.

If you already have suppliers or equipment brands in mind, list them (comma-separated). We benchmark them against comparable qualified alternatives — vendor-neutral, no lock-in.

House size, climate zone, production target, equipment standards, Incoterms, warranty terms, or any must-have scope items. The more specific, the more comparable the quotes.

When do you need supplier proposals back? We align outreach and reminders to this date.

Egg capacity per setter batch. Hatchery suppliers size setters, hatchers, HVAC and standby power from this number — stating it removes one full clarification round.

Select every measure that must be included in scope. Biosecurity is a major cost driver — unstated requirements are the most common reason quotes are not comparable.

Ventilation and incubation cannot tolerate outages. Tell suppliers the redundancy level you expect so generators, ATS panels and UPS are priced inside the quote — not added later as a variation.
