How large should a poultry house be for 50,000 broilers?
At a commercial density of 14–16 birds/m², 50,000 broilers need roughly 3,100–3,600 m² of floor area — typically two houses of about 14 m × 115 m each. In hot or humid climates density is reduced to 11–14 birds/m², which increases the required area by 15–25%.
How much does a 100,000-bird broiler farm cost?
Indicative CAPEX is roughly USD 11–19 per bird for an automated closed-house broiler farm, so about USD 1.1M–1.9M before land, permits and working capital. Freight, duty and installation raise that 15–25% in West Africa and the Gulf.
How much ventilation does a broiler house need?
Tunnel ventilation is sized on air velocity: 2.0 m/s in temperate climates, 2.5 m/s in hot-dry climates and 3.0 m/s in tropical humid climates. A 14 m × 2.8 m cross-section at 3.0 m/s needs about 250,000 cfm, or ten 48-inch fans.
How much feed do 100,000 broilers consume?
At an FCR of about 1.65 and 2.4 kg live weight, 100,000 broilers consume roughly 390–410 tonnes per cycle, or about 2,400 tonnes per year over six cycles.
How much water does a commercial poultry farm need?
Plan on 1.8–2.2 litres of drinking water per kg of feed, plus evaporative cooling demand in hot climates. A 100,000-bird broiler farm typically needs 12–20 m³ per day, with 48 hours of storage.
How many feed silos are needed?
Silo count follows peak daily feed and the storage days you want. A farm eating 20 t/day with a 5-day target needs 100 t of storage — four 25 t silos, and usually at least one silo per house.
Is closed-house poultry suitable for Indonesia?
Yes, but not with Gulf logic. Indonesia's high wet-bulb temperature limits evaporative cooling to a small temperature drop, so the design must rely on air velocity over the birds, tight inlet control and litter moisture management.
How do I heat a poultry house in Kazakhstan?
Cold-climate houses are governed by insulation and airtightness first. With a −30 °C design minimum, envelope and minimum-ventilation losses drive heat demand; specify insulated panels around U 0.35 W/m²K, controlled minimum ventilation and sized brooders or space heaters.
