Executive summary

HatchMatch Group is a buyer-side procurement platform for commercial poultry, hatchery and egg-production projects. We are not an equipment manufacturer, we do not resell equipment, and we do not represent any specific supplier.

Our role is to help producers, integrators, hatcheries, EPC contractors and agricultural investors define the right project envelope, reach multiple qualified international manufacturers with one structured RFQ, compare offers on objective criteria, and — when appropriate — explore third-party financing pathways.

Because our compensation does not depend on which supplier a buyer selects, we have no financial incentive to steer toward expensive systems or preferred brands. Sourcing is free for buyers. Trust, transparency and long-term project success define how we work.

Introduction

Commercial poultry procurement is a high-stakes engineering and capital-allocation exercise. A single project can involve six to twelve equipment families — housing envelope, ventilation and climate control, feeding and drinking lines, bird-management systems, hatchery incubation, egg or meat processing, biosecurity, waste management, feed milling, on-site power and control automation. Each family has fifteen to fifty credible international suppliers. A buyer working alone rarely has the internal engineering and commercial capacity to compare all of them objectively within a realistic timeline.

The traditional response has been to work with a single OEM sales team or a locally represented distributor. That path is convenient, but it embeds a structural conflict of interest: the person recommending the specification is compensated on the equipment they sell. Research on capital-project overruns in agriculture and food processing — including work by the FAO, the World Bank and the IFC — repeatedly identifies single-source procurement and weak specification governance as leading contributors to CAPEX inflation, delayed commissioning and underperforming plants.

HatchMatch was built to solve that structural problem for commercial poultry buyers. This page explains, in professional detail, why our model is different, how it protects your project economics, and why producers on five continents choose to work with us.

1. We work for the buyer, not for suppliers

HatchMatch is a buyer-side procurement platform. Our contractual and commercial alignment sits with the poultry producer, hatchery, integrator, EPC contractor or investor commissioning the project — not with equipment manufacturers. We do not accept exclusivity from any supplier, we do not carry OEM dealer status, and we do not sell equipment on margin. Our success is measured by whether the project we help procure is delivered on-spec, on-budget, on-time and performs to guarantee.

What this looks like in practice

When a buyer engages HatchMatch, we help translate the business goal (bird species, target output, location, budget, timeline) into a structured technical envelope, then broadcast a supplier-neutral RFQ to qualified international manufacturers relevant to that envelope. We do not tell suppliers who else has been invited, we do not filter offers to protect a preferred brand, and we return every compliant quotation to the buyer with a side-by-side scorecard.

Why this matters commercially

Multiple studies of industrial procurement — including work published by CIPS, the McKinsey Global Institute and academic reviews of capital-project delivery — consistently find that competitive, structured, multi-supplier sourcing reduces landed CAPEX by 8–18% on comparable specifications, while improving performance-guarantee terms. On a US$5 million broiler complex, that is materially decisive for project IRR.

2. Complete supplier neutrality is enforced structurally, not just claimed

Supplier neutrality is easy to claim and difficult to prove. HatchMatch enforces it structurally: our platform does not hold OEM distribution agreements, does not receive undisclosed referral fees tied to specific brands, and does not run supplier-sponsored 'preferred partner' tiers. Verified suppliers pay platform participation fees that are identical regardless of RFQ volume awarded, so we have no economic reason to recommend one qualified supplier over another. The buyer always sees every compliant quotation.

No hidden margins

We do not add margin to supplier quotations. Prices you see are the prices the supplier committed to in writing to the buyer. Suppliers know this, so their commercial offers are already market-competitive when they reach you — no back-and-forth to strip out reseller markup.

No brand loyalty in specifications

Specifications we help draft are performance-based (kg/m², air changes/hour, static pressure at Δ°C, water flow at kPa, egg-throughput per hour) rather than brand-based. Any qualified manufacturer whose equipment meets those numbers can compete on equal footing.

3. One structured RFQ, multiple competitive quotations

The single biggest time cost in commercial poultry procurement is the sourcing loop: identifying credible manufacturers across regions, sending individual technical briefs, chasing follow-ups, normalising responses in different formats and Incoterms, and reconciling scope gaps between offers. Experienced buyers report six to fourteen weeks of internal effort on this loop alone before a shortlist emerges. HatchMatch compresses that to a single structured RFQ submission and a comparable-format response window of two to four weeks.

Structured RFQ engine

Our RFQ builder captures the twenty-plus data points suppliers actually need to price accurately — species, house dimensions, target stocking density, climate zone, voltage and phase, ambient design conditions, biosecurity level, Incoterm, delivery port and required guarantees. Suppliers respond in a comparable schema, which lets us return a normalised side-by-side comparison rather than a folder of PDFs.

Time savings compound

Buyers we work with typically save six to ten weeks of internal engineering and procurement effort per project. On top of that, they see a wider supplier pool than they would have reached alone — including specialist manufacturers in Europe, North America, Turkey and East Asia that don't have local distributors in every market.

4. Procurement risk is reduced, not merely transferred

Procurement risk in poultry projects is dominated by four failure modes: (a) under-specified equipment that cannot deliver design performance in the local climate; (b) commercial exposure to a single supplier that under-delivers on lead time or after-sales support; (c) hidden scope gaps between civil, electrical and equipment packages that surface only at commissioning; (d) currency, logistics and customs exposure on cross-border shipments. A buyer-side platform structurally reduces each of these — through independent specification review, competitive supplier tension, integrated scope mapping across mechanical and civil packages, and standard Incoterm and letter-of-credit templates.

Verified supplier pool

Every manufacturer on the HatchMatch platform is verified for corporate identity, export track record, references in comparable climates, and after-sales service coverage. Verification does not endorse a brand — it certifies that the supplier is a real, operating manufacturer capable of delivering internationally.

Independent specification review

Before an RFQ is issued, our engineering team reviews the specification against international best practice (ASABE, EN, ISO norms where applicable) and flags common failure modes for the buyer to resolve. This service is included in the free buyer sourcing package.

5. Access to verified international suppliers, not just local dealers

Commercial poultry equipment is genuinely global. The most cost-effective supplier for a broiler ventilation package in West Africa may be based in the Netherlands, the most reliable hatchery-setter supplier for a Latin-American breeder farm may be Belgian, and the best-value processing line for a mid-size plant in Central Asia may come from Turkey or Italy. A locally represented single dealer, however competent, cannot offer that breadth. HatchMatch's supplier network spans manufacturers across Europe, North America, Turkey, Israel, East Asia and, increasingly, Latin America and the Middle East.

6. Financing pathways when the project needs them

Many commercial poultry projects benefit from third-party financing structures — equipment leasing, export-credit-agency (ECA) coverage, development-finance-institution (DFI) loans and trade-finance facilities. HatchMatch can introduce qualified buyers to independent financing partners when the project profile fits. All financing is arranged directly between the buyer and the financing partner. We do not lend, we do not guarantee acceptance, and every offer is subject to third-party approval and the financing partner's own due diligence and terms. Response times for initial expressions of interest from our financing partners are typically within two business days.

7. Support from planning to commissioning

Procurement is a phase, not a project. HatchMatch supports buyers across four project phases: (1) Planning — envelope definition, feasibility calculators, readiness scoring; (2) Sourcing — RFQ issuance, supplier comparison, contract terms; (3) Delivery — Incoterm and logistics coordination, factory acceptance testing, letters of credit; (4) Commissioning — installation reference checks, spare-parts strategy, service SLA verification. Buyers can engage us for the full arc or for any single phase.

8. Sourcing is free for buyers

Commercial poultry buyers pay nothing to use HatchMatch's core sourcing service. Verified suppliers cover the cost of platform participation. There is no per-project fee, no percentage of contract value, no retainer, and no hidden commission structure. This is possible because the platform aggregates enough qualified buyer demand across the industry that supplier participation is commercially self-sustaining. The buyer's project economics remain 100% between the buyer and the selected supplier.

9. Trust and long-term partnership

The commercial poultry industry is smaller than it looks. Producers talk, integrators compare notes, and procurement decisions are remembered for a decade. We built HatchMatch to be an institution buyers refer to their peers — not a transactional marketplace. Every RFQ we handle is treated as a long-term relationship, whether the buyer's next project is next quarter or in three years. Confidentiality of project details is preserved end-to-end. Historical procurement data belongs to the buyer, not to us.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Does HatchMatch sell poultry equipment?
No. HatchMatch does not manufacture, resell, distribute or hold agency for any poultry equipment. We are a buyer-side procurement platform. Every quotation you receive comes directly from the manufacturer under their own commercial terms.
How does HatchMatch make money if sourcing is free for buyers?
Verified suppliers pay a platform participation fee to be visible to qualified buyer demand. That fee is identical across suppliers of the same category, so there is no financial incentive for us to recommend one qualified supplier over another.
Will suppliers know they are competing?
Yes. Every RFQ is issued as a competitive, buyer-neutral tender. Suppliers know a comparable offer is being requested from other qualified manufacturers, which is precisely what produces market-competitive pricing and stronger performance guarantees.
Are HatchMatch's supplier recommendations biased?
No. Our platform does not carry preferred-partner tiers, undisclosed referral fees, or margin on supplier quotations. Recommendations are driven by objective fit against the project envelope — climate, scale, biosecurity level, reference sites, service coverage.
How long does the RFQ process take?
For a typical commercial project the sourcing loop — from structured RFQ issuance to a normalised side-by-side comparison — runs two to four weeks, versus six to fourteen weeks for a buyer running the process alone.
Can HatchMatch help finance my project?
We can introduce qualified buyers to independent leasing, ECA, DFI and trade-finance partners when the project profile fits. All financing is arranged directly with the third party, is subject to their own due diligence and approval, and is not guaranteed by HatchMatch.
Is my project information kept confidential?
Yes. Project details are shared with suppliers only under a structured RFQ that discloses what is necessary to price accurately. Sensitive commercial data (budget ceilings, board decisions, off-take contracts) is never disclosed to suppliers.
What size of project does HatchMatch typically handle?
Commercial and industrial-scale projects — broadly 10,000+ bird capacity, greenfield or brownfield, with total equipment budgets typically starting around US$150,000 and running into eight figures for integrated complexes. We do not serve hobby or backyard poultry projects.
Do you cover hatcheries and processing, not just farms?
Yes. We source across the full commercial poultry value chain: parent and grandparent stock housing, hatcheries (setters, hatchers, chick handling), broiler and layer farms, feed mills, egg-processing lines, poultry-meat processing lines, on-site power and biosecurity infrastructure.
How is HatchMatch different from a consultant?
A consultant is typically paid by the buyer to design a specification. HatchMatch is not paid by the buyer at all — the platform is buyer-free. We can work alongside your existing consultant or engineering firm, or provide the specification-review and sourcing layer directly.
