- Months 1–3 decide 70% of project economics.
- Financing, permits and supplier long-list should progress in parallel, not in sequence.
- Construction and commissioning need a dedicated owner representative on site.
- First flock is not the end of the project — the first 3 flocks reveal whether the system is running to spec.
24-Month Executive Roadmap
- 1.Months 1–3 — Decision, business case, site
- 2.Months 3–6 — Feasibility, scope, supplier long-list, financing scoping
- 3.Months 6–9 — RFQ, evaluation, contract negotiation
- 4.Months 9–12 — Financing close, contract signature, permits
- 5.Months 12–18 — Manufacturing, construction, logistics
- 6.Months 18–20 — Installation, commissioning
- 7.Months 20–24 — First 3 flocks, performance validation
Months 1–3 — Decision & site
The business case, site, capacity and target performance are set here. This phase is inexpensive but decides 70% of eventual project economics. Rushing it is the most common executive mistake.
Months 3–9 — Scope, suppliers, financing in parallel
The mistake most owners make is treating these as sequential. Financing scoping, permit initiation and supplier long-listing should all move together — otherwise the critical path stretches 3–6 months unnecessarily.
Months 18–24 — Commissioning and first flocks
Installation is not the finish line. The first 3 flocks reveal whether the system is genuinely running to spec — FCR, mortality, uniformity, downtime. Acceptance and warranty structure should be tied to these flocks, not to installation sign-off.
