Egg importer matrix: what you can buy on each route, and what to ask for

Short answer

Pick the route and the product family first: shell table eggs, egg products and hatching eggs follow different rules. On the four routes below, current official rules were read on 22 October 2026. Published conditions were found for every product family, but some points are still open — they are listed in each cell. Company names are unconfirmed leads, not suppliers.

How to read the matrix

Each cell shows who typically buys, what to put in the specification, the documents the destination asks for and what is still open. The status describes the official rules HatchMatch read, not a guarantee that a shipment will be accepted: eligibility can change with disease outbreaks, listings and quotas.

Conditions published
Current official rules for this route and product were read and are summarised here. Each shipment still has to meet them.
Partly confirmed
Some official conditions were read; others listed under “Still open” were not confirmed.
Not confirmed
No current official text confirming access was found. Requests are held for case review.

The buyer matrix

Four routes with verified 2024 trade and readable current rules. Routes whose current access could not be confirmed, such as Ukraine to the EU, are left out.

Netherlands, Poland → Germany, European Union

The largest reported shell-egg flow in this guide: Germany took 76.9% of Dutch table-egg exports in 2024. Poland ships mainly to Germany, the Netherlands, Czechia and France.

Questions buyers ask

Which egg products can be imported on each route?
On all four routes, current official rules publish conditions for shell table eggs, egg products and hatching eggs. Some cells are only partly confirmed — for example routine movement paperwork inside the EU, or which Malaysian farms are approved for hatching eggs — so check the “Still open” line before you plan a shipment.
What is the difference between a verified rule and a company lead?
A verified rule was read in an official text and is cited with its date. A company lead is an exporter whose own or official page describes egg exports; HatchMatch has not confirmed that it ships on your route, holds the listing for your product or has stock, certificates or prices.
Do hatching eggs follow the same rules as table eggs?
No. Hatching eggs (HS 0407.11) are germinal products under animal-health rules for source flocks and hatcheries. In Great Britain, for example, EU hatching eggs are high risk, while EU table eggs are medium risk.
What happens after I send a request from the matrix?
Requests start at USD 250,000 total requested value. Every brief gets human review and trade checks; the team then contacts suitable suppliers on your behalf, with no direct buyer–supplier contact. HatchMatch aims to reply within two business days and does not promise supplier responses, stock or prices.

Send a structured egg sourcing request

The request form asks for the points below, so have them ready:

  1. Product and form: shell table eggs, liquid, frozen or dried
  2. Specification: grade and weight class, or product type and treatment
  3. Production-system claim and the certificate that proves it
  4. Volume, frequency and pack
  5. Destination, delivery point and Incoterm
  6. Documents the destination requires

Requests start at USD 250,000 total requested value — an annual programme, a season or a single lot.

The buyer service is free. Every brief gets human review and trade checks, then the HatchMatch team contacts suitable suppliers on your behalf; there is no direct buyer–supplier contact. HatchMatch aims to reply within two business days and does not promise supplier responses, stock or prices.
