Feeding equipment is sized separately for males and females, so the ratio is part of the duty, not a detail.

- Reported floor-egg percentage on reference farms using the quoted nest system
- Number of transfer points between nest and collection room, and drop height at each
- Whether the egg belt speed is adjustable and how cracks are monitored
- Whether the supplier's controller integrates feed weighing and light programme

Comparable means every bidder priced the same duty, the same design conditions and the same delivery point. Where a column is blank in a real offer, treat it as excluded until the supplier confirms otherwise in writing.

The breeder farm's product is hatching eggs, and several cost drivers — floor eggs, belt transfers, feed distribution speed — show up as egg quality and hatchability rather than as electricity. Carry the electrical drivers in the calculator and record the quality drivers beside the result.
Cost drivers that outlast the purchase price
- Feed distribution: slow distribution costs flock uniformity; the energy line is minor next to the production effect, but both belong in the comparison.
- Nest and egg-belt wear parts: belts, nest pads and expulsion mechanisms are cycle-count consumables with fixed intervals.
- Egg handling downtime: hatching eggs lose value by the hour — transfer points and belt redundancy are operating-cost items.
- Lighting uniformity: failed dimming zones surface as floor eggs and labour, not as an electrical line.
- Slat and manure system condition: wear under slats is slow but expensive to fix mid-cycle.
