Poultry equipment suppliers in China.
China is primarily a sourcing origin rather than a destination market for imported equipment: buyers worldwide come here for complete broiler and layer house packages, cage and aviary systems, feed-mill scope and processing lines at prices no other origin matches at volume. The work is not finding a factory — it is separating genuine manufacturers from trading companies, and writing a specification precise enough that the quoted price is the equipment you actually receive.
- 220 V / 380 V, 50 Hz
- Grid supply
- Confirm the destination market's voltage and frequency package explicitly on the order
- Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Shenzhen
- Main gateways
- Most poultry equipment factories cluster in Shandong, Henan and Hebei, feeding Qingdao and Tianjin
- Cage, aviary and complete-house packages
- Typical strength
- Highest cost advantage on repeatable, high-volume steel scope
- Trader vs. manufacturer
- Key risk
- Verify the production licence, factory address and export history before payment
How do you buy poultry equipment in China?
Send one scoped request. HatchMatch runs it across vetted manufacturers and distributors that already ship into China and Asia, then returns quotes on the same Incoterms 2020 basis — usually CIF or DDP — so ocean freight, clearance and duty are inside the compared number. A specialist replies within 2 business days with clarifying questions and a shortlist.
Prepare house dimensions, bird type and capacity, target placement date, on-site power and water, and a budget range. Buyers pay no fee. Financing, where relevant, is introduced through an independent third-party partner and remains subject to third-party approval.
Planning guidance only — tariff classification, duty and FX rules change; confirm with your bank and licensed clearing agent.
What shapes a poultry equipment purchase in China.
The cost advantage is real but concentrated in steel-intensive, repeatable scope: cages, aviaries, feeding lines, ventilation fans and house structures. On sophisticated climate controllers, hatchery incubators and high-throughput processing, the gap to European equipment narrows and the service question becomes decisive.
Many exporters are trading companies rather than the factory. That is not automatically a problem, but it changes accountability on warranty, spare parts and technical corrections. Ask directly whether you are buying from the producer and require the factory name on the contract.
Quality is specification-driven. Two Chinese quotations for the same house can differ by 40% because of steel gauge, galvanising thickness, motor brand, controller model and included spares — none of which appear in a lump-sum offer. Comparable quotes require a written bill of materials.
Installation and commissioning support is normally quoted as engineer days plus travel and accommodation. Price it explicitly, including visa handling, because it is a common source of budget surprise after arrival.

Buyer guidance for planning purposes. Regulations, tariff classification and foreign-exchange rules change — confirm the current position with your bank and licensed clearing agent before committing.
Verify the manufacturer
Request the business licence, factory address, production capacity and at least two export references in a comparable market. A short video audit of the production line is normal practice and usually granted.
Bill of materials, not lump sums
Require steel gauge and galvanising thickness, motor and gearbox brands, controller model, cable specification, quantities per house and the spares included. This single document is what makes competing Chinese offers comparable.
Payment terms and inspection
Typical terms are a deposit against a balance before shipment. Tie the balance to a pre-shipment inspection by an independent third party against the agreed bill of materials, and keep a retention against commissioning where the supplier will accept it.
Certification and destination compliance
CE documentation is commonly available; UL is not. State the destination market's electrical standard, voltage and frequency on the order and require the conformity documents your inspector or insurer will ask for.
Entry gateways and transit
| Gateway | Serves | Typical transit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qingdao / Tianjin | Shandong, Hebei and Henan equipment cluster | Roughly 3–5 weeks to Europe, 4–6 weeks to Africa and the Americas | The usual load ports for poultry house equipment. |
| Shanghai / Ningbo | Eastern China; consolidated multi-supplier shipments | Roughly 3–6 weeks depending on destination | Best option when several suppliers are consolidated into one shipment. |
| Shenzhen / Guangzhou | Southern China; Southeast Asian destinations | Roughly 1–3 weeks to Southeast Asia | Short transits into Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. |
Supplier origins serving China, and the trade-offs.
| Origin | Why buyers here use it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Shandong / Hebei cluster | Deepest concentration of cage, aviary and complete-house manufacturers with export experience. | Capacity varies widely between factories — confirm the line that will actually build your order. |
| Henan cluster | Strong on feeding systems, silos and feed-mill scope at competitive pricing. | Ask for references in your climate zone, not only domestic installations. |
| Joint-venture and licensed producers | European-designed equipment produced locally, bridging price and specification depth. | Confirm which components are licensed and which are locally substituted. |
Designing equipment for China conditions.
Specify for the destination climate
Equipment configured for northern Chinese conditions is not automatically correct for tropical Africa or the Gulf. State design temperature, humidity and altitude and require the ventilation and cooling calculation against those figures.
Corrosion protection
Galvanising thickness and coating quality decide service life in humid and ammonia-loaded houses. Put the specification in microns in the contract and verify it at pre-shipment inspection.
Spare parts strategy
Long resupply distances make an initial spares package essential: fan motors and capacitors, nipples, drive units, sensors and a spare controller board. Negotiate it into the original order, when your leverage is highest.
Documentation and training
Require manuals, wiring diagrams and parts catalogues in the working language of your team, plus commissioning and operator training days written into the contract rather than promised verbally.

Buying poultry equipment in China — what actually decides the outcome.
Most buyers in Asia collect three quotes written on three different scopes, three Incoterms and three certification assumptions — then compare them as if they were the same thing. We normalise the scope first, then put it out to the manufacturers that can genuinely serve China, so the numbers you compare are comparable. Buyers pay zero fees, and a human specialist owns the project from scope definition through delivery.
Cost figures and lead times shown across the site are engineering estimates for planning purposes. Final pricing is confirmed with suppliers, and any financing arrangement remains subject to third-party approval.
Five checks before you commit
- Landed cost, not factory priceAsk for CIF or DDP into China so freight, customs and duty sit inside the quote.
- Electrical spec and voltageConfirm panels, motors and controllers match local code, voltage and frequency in writing.
- Climate-matched ventilationFan count, cooling and heating load sized for Asia conditions, not a generic catalogue layout.
- Spare parts and service reachWho supports the equipment in China, how fast, and what parts are held locally.
- Warranty and commissioningWritten warranty terms plus on-site installation, commissioning and operator training.

What suppliers need to quote China
Send every bidder the same brief. With these fields fixed, quotes come back on one scope and one Incoterms basis, and can be compared line by line.
- Country and delivery site (port or inland)
- Bird type — broiler, layer, breeder, pullet or hatchery
- Target bird capacity per house and per site
- Number of houses, and house dimensions if already fixed
- New build, expansion or retrofit of an existing house
- Climate zone and typical summer/winter design temperatures
- Required automation level — manual, semi-automatic or fully automated
- Grid power availability, voltage/frequency and backup arrangement
- Water source, pressure and quality
- Equipment scope required (supply only, supply + installation, or turnkey)
- Indicative budget range and funding status
- Target placement or commissioning date
- Preferred Incoterm — usually CIF or DDP so quotes are comparable
