Uneven broiler weight — checking distribution and environmental uniformity along the house.
Poor uniformity increases processing downgrades and complicates scheduling. Where management and genetics are consistent, uniformity problems frequently trace back to physical distribution: feed, water and environment are not identical from one end of the house to the other.

Budgeting the upgrade? poultry equipment cost guide
Map performance along the house, not just the average
Weigh samples at several points along the house length and compare against feeder and drinker positions, inlet locations and heater positions. A repeatable pattern — consistently lighter birds at one end or along one side — indicates a distribution or environmental gradient rather than a flock-wide issue.
Feed and water distribution
Pan fill uniformity, auger and hopper condition, line levelling, feeder space per bird and winch height all affect access. On the water side, line pressure loss along long runs, nipple flow rate variance and drinker height by age determine whether birds at the far end have equivalent access.
Environmental uniformity
Temperature stratification, inlet air throw that does not reach the centre, heater placement, and static pressure that varies along the house all create zones where intake and growth differ. Multi-point sensing rather than a single controller probe is what makes these gradients visible.
Equipment scope
Typical scopes include feeding line replacement or extension, pan and winch upgrades, drinking line replacement with regulation, additional inlets or air-distribution changes, and multi-zone sensing with controller upgrade.
Important limitation
HatchMatch is an equipment sourcing and project platform, not a veterinary or production-consultancy service. Equipment alone does not guarantee biological or production results — the guidance below describes factors that commonly warrant evaluation, and any capital decision should be confirmed with your own technical advisors.
