Assumptions
- Broiler: total feed = survivors × target weight × FCR, plus 40% of intake for mortality-adjusted birds.
- Layer: total feed = average hens × g/hen/day × production days.
- Scenario adjusts FCR: conservative +0.10, optimistic −0.05.
- Phase split and weekly curve are indicative; validate against your strain program before procurement.
FAQ
How accurate is this calculator?
Estimates are directional (±5–10%) based on FCR, target weight and mortality. Real feed use varies by strain, climate, feed quality and health status.
How is the phase split applied?
Broiler: Starter 18% / Grower 34% / Finisher 48% of total feed by default. Layer: Pre-lay 8% / Phase 1 46% / Phase 2 46%. Adjust to your program before procurement.
Why download inputs?
Save the CSV or JSON to reproduce the run, share with feed suppliers for tender pricing, or attach to an RFQ so quotes are comparable on identical assumptions.
