Assumptions

  • Broiler: total feed = survivors × target weight × FCR, plus 40% of intake for mortality-adjusted birds.
  • Layer: total feed = average hens × g/hen/day × production days.
  • Scenario adjusts FCR: conservative +0.10, optimistic −0.05.
  • Phase split and weekly curve are indicative; validate against your strain program before procurement.

FAQ

How accurate is this calculator?

Estimates are directional (±5–10%) based on FCR, target weight and mortality. Real feed use varies by strain, climate, feed quality and health status.

How is the phase split applied?

Broiler: Starter 18% / Grower 34% / Finisher 48% of total feed by default. Layer: Pre-lay 8% / Phase 1 46% / Phase 2 46%. Adjust to your program before procurement.
